Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-gyu selected the 'ability to unite the players as one team' as an essential

ability for the new national team commander, who is experiencing a chaotic selection process.

Chairman Chung met with reporters after the 'One Mind Soccer Tournament' hosted by the association at the Korea

Football Association Complex in Cheonan on the 5th and said, "Ultimately, (the national team coach) is most important in

terms of the ability to build a team. I think they (the coaching staff) will take care of the tactical aspects."

He explained, "I told the (national team) power reinforcement committee not to talk to me like, 'This person will do it' or

'Who will do it.' Isn't it important to first decide what we want and then align procedural legitimacy?" and "It seems really

difficult to define what we need."

The official position of the national team's head coach has been vacant since former coach Jurgen Klinsmann was fired in

February. The power reinforcement committee launched under the leadership of Chairman Jeong Hae-seong has reviewed

over 100 candidates, but has yet to find a suitable leader.

Recently, Chairman Jeong suddenly resigned, and Chief Technology Officer Lee Im-saeng left for Europe to meet with

foreign leaders who are on the final list of candidates for the next manager.

Regarding the appointment of the national team coach, Chairman Jeong said, "I haven't received any reports yet. I believe

things will go well. I heard that (Director Lee Im-saeng) 안전 is working hard."

He continued, "Regardless of who we elect, public opinion will likely be split 45% to 55%. No matter who we elect, there is

a high probability that 55% will be against it," adding, "I don't think there will be a case where a manager receives 50%

support. (Alex) Ferguson (Manchester United) won't have an easy time either."

The point is that as soccer fever has grown recently, the standards for national team coaches, who receive nationwide

attention, have also become stricter.

The soccer tournament on that day was held for the Korea Football Association, construction company Dongbu

Construction, Cheonan City Hall employees, and the press, as the groundwork for the soccer complex scheduled to open in

June next year has progressed to a certain extent and some of the grounds have been completed.

Chairman Jeong, who was born in 1962 and is 62 years old, also wore the national team uniform and participated in the

competition as a player belonging to the Football Association, and played on the field with his employees.

Chairman Chung said at the opening ceremony, "There have been a lot of articles about the national team coach these

days, but I think there will be time to explain the process and procedures in detail later when (the coach) is selected."

The soccer complex, which covers a total area of 478,000㎡ (approximately 145,000 pyeong), is divided into areas

managed by Cheonan City (363,000㎡, approximately 110,000 pyeong) and the Soccer Association (115,000㎡,

approximately 35,000 pyeong).

Some artificial grass fields within the Cheonan City area have been completed and opened, while stadiums and training

grounds within the Football Association area are still under construction.
